What to ask when you call
- Do you give IV iron infusions to new patients? Which ones?
- Do you take my insurance? (Have your card ready.) Will my plan need approval first?
- Do you need an order or referral from my doctor? Where should my doctor send it?
- About how much will I pay for each visit, and how many visits will I need?
- Which blood tests do you need first, and how recent?
Do I need a doctor's order?
Almost always. IV iron is a prescription medicine, so the place giving it usually needs an order from a doctor, nurse practitioner or physician assistant — often with recent blood tests showing low iron.
iViron can keep your blood test results in one place and make a one-page summary you can show a doctor.
Where this list comes from. Public Medicare billing data for 2024: offices where a doctor billed Original Medicare for IV iron for 11 or more patients. It doesn't include hospital infusion centers, Medicare Advantage or private insurance, so places near you may be missing. A place listed here may have stopped.

iViron is a tracking app, not a clinic, and doesn't give medical advice. Your own doctor decides whether IV iron is right for you.
